SCHOOL AWARENESS AND DRAWING ART PROGRAM

by Bal krishna Pandey | 02-01-2020 18:10

With the arrival of new year 2020 and as a continuation of my project HPCP (Heal the Planet, Cut the Plastic), I organized drawing art and awareness program for school kids of Grandee Secondary School, Chitwan on January 1st,2020. Around 170 students, comprising participating students from Grade 4 and 5 were be directly benefited by this program. I also involved few school teachers and they were happy with the impact of the program.

The program began sharply at 2 PM. In the first session, we conducted art competition for students. We formed few circles by dividing them into few groups with each circle comprising 9-10 students. Then each of them were assigned with drawing any structure, picture they wished to make. They all made wonderful drawings. Most of the drawings were about mountain, valleys, bird and flowers. We selected three best drawings from each group and explained about their designs with others. Various Gifts and Color Pencils were then distributed among them.

In the next session, we gave oral presentation about various topics to them. Altogether three different presentations were made on three different topics. Kiran Bhandari (one of my classmate) gave oral presentation on Plastic and Environmental pollution. Similarly, Janashrit Shrestha (also my classmate) briefed about Stray Dog welfare. And Lastly I presented about Tunza and Environment Health to them. Almost everyone listened our presentation with great interest. I am very thankful to my friends Utsav Lamichhane, Kiran Niure, Hari Marasini, Mamata Pokhrel and Tunza members Manisha Upadhaye and Rashmi Thakur.

I hope I will be doing more programs to make children and people aware about environment and plastic pollution.
