 Greta Thunberg is a very popular name among people .Her popularity is increasing day by day and with her Global Climate Strike involving more than 7 million people , she has become a climate leader as well .She was nominated by three Swedish leaders for the Nobel Prize this year. There were altogether 301 nominees for the coveted prize this year and Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed was the luckiest one. But Greta was the favourite one to claim the prize .Here are the possible reasons due to which she didn't win the prize this year. 1. Head of Peace Research Institute ,Oslo , Mr Henrik Urdal said that International relationship between Climate Change or Resource scarcity, more broadly and armed conflict. 2. Many environmentalist stressed on need to follow Alfred Nobel will, which focused on awarding the person who have done most or best work for abolition and reduction of standing armies and formation of peace . 3. Link between Climate change and conflict is quite tenious . 4. Nobel Committee draws up a shortlist for most interesting and worthy candidate soon after the nomination deadline at the end of January, but her works like GLOBAL CLIMATE STRIKE, her translantic voyage on her sailboat and her UN speech came later this year. 5. She was heavily backlashed by major leaders of the world for promoting Flight Shame And various Other Campaigns . |
