Climate change a deeper Prospective

by Sachin Regmi | 30-11-2019 13:26

Earth keeps moving on its orbit around the giant mass of energy called the Sun. Sun is the source of all kinds of energy for the earth. Earth receives the energy from the sun in the form of light waves popularly known as solar radiation. The solar energy is distributed all over the earth by different mechanisms like winds and ocean current. This energy is solely responsible for the existence of life forms on the earth aided by other factors. So, what makes the climate change such a bigger issue? why is the topic trending talk of the town? Till date As per the latest report of NASA Carbon dioxide concentration this date is 406.94 parts per million ppm, meaning carbon dioxide level  in the air are at highest in 650,000 years,  global temperature increased by 1.7 degree Fahrenheit since 1880, artic ice minimum decreased by 13.2% per decade and land ice decreased by 286.0 gigatons per year this whole scenario clearly indicates about the unusual climate change pattern of the globe which is bringing threat to the whole mankind at least. Scientists have gathered some solid evidences of climate change in the recent past years. Major of them is change in settlement and agricultural patterns of mankind. Different archeological evidences, written as well as oral history also offer our access towards the incidents of the past. It is familiar to most of us that the unexpected climate change has caused the erosion of many civilizations over the period of time. These days the use of modern equipment like artificial satellites on the space and many other technological advancements is drawing a common conclusion about this issue and scientists are trying to calculate the loss in global scale in the upcoming years. Even prediction of many changes based on the data obtained is being done. The data obtained from various sources clearly indicate that the global temperature is going to be increasing for the recent years to come. And yes, we humans are responsible for the same. A panel of scientists recently forecasted that the temperature will be increased by 2.5 to 10 degrees Fahrenheit over the next century to come. If the forecast turns true the globe will be facing a threat of end of entire human civilization. Let us know some of the common consequences of climate change: We are experiencing the unusual patterns as a result of climate change loud and clear. Glaciers are shrinking, ice on the mountains are melting too fast and even the wild flora and fauna are shifting their location and natural pattern. Higher average temperature of the earth will probably lead to more evaporation and precipitation. However, the pattern of rainfall will change thus a place will be more wet and other will be drier. Melting of ice and glaciers will lead to raise of sea level. Ocean water will also expand being warmer. Overall there will be more rise in water level. Island countries like Maldives will be under the ocean. One type of plant will show vigorous growth and suppress the growth of other. This will affect the makeup of natural plant communities. It is believed that some gas is responsible for the climate change. These types of gas can naturally trap heat radiation from earth towards space and are coined as greenhouse gases. They include water vapor, Nitrous Oxide, Carbon dioxide methane, CFC. Burning of fuels like coal and petroleum is responsible for such massive increase in greenhouse gases. The industries and vehicles are major source of such greenhouse gases. Human activities are mainly responsible for the current climate change. Statistically speaking more than 95% of the climate change we are experiencing right now is unnatural and exclusively the result of our deed. The exploitation increased since the beginning of industrial era ie middle of 20th century and is increasing ever since. We still have hope to make the world a better place. Many organizations like National Resources Defense Council ( NRDC ) , Greenpeace along with almost every government are working for this common issue Different governments are enforcing various climate acts for the same purpose. every year thousands of climates conference workshop are held at highest level.
