 Peri-Urban Gardening is practise of growing flowers ,ornamental plants, vegetables, fruits& herbs in terraces of residential areas. Although Land per people of Nepal is around 1 hectare, still there is scarcity of cultivable land in highly dense cities like Kathmandu,Lalitpur . Kathmandu & Lalitpur Metropolitan Municipality has provided rooftop gardening training to around 700 households in last fiscal year. Vegetables like Chayote is the leader in the list of horticulture plants followed by Marigold, Chrysanthemum, Pansy, Chillies, Tomatoes, etc. |
