Solar Energy as a source of Renewable Energy

by Chitwan C | 30-10-2019 02:35

Solar energy has its own set of pros and cons. The initial costing of solar energy is really high and everyone can¡¯t afford it. Large area is required to set up the entire structure almost 10sqm/kw, which is very large for small business men and common mat to afford. Also the storage capacity is expensive the batteries and expensive. At the same time it has several advantages also. These advantages include it being a clean source of energy. It is very much sustainable and can be used by the future generations also.

Energy produced by sources that do not perish or it can be replenished within a lifetime of human beings is known as Renewable Energy.  Wind energy, solar energy, geothermal energy, biomass energy, and hydropower energy are some of the most common example of this type of energy. On the other hand fossil fuel is an example of non renewable energy resources. Sun light is directly or indirectly leads to the production of most renewable energy. Solar technologies capture sunlight directly. Winds are created by the sun¡¯s heat drives, whose energy is captured with the turbines. Bio energy is also dependent on sunlight as the plants also require sun to grow and their stored energy is further utilized as bio energy.

Therefore it can be concluded that solar energy as a form of renewable energy is very important, essential and beneficial. The usable energy obtained from the light of the sun is known as solar energy. Places such as national electrical grid and in space, where other power supplies are absent, solar power energy has come into absolute use. The cumulative capacity of India¡¯s solar grid was of 13.11 GW, as of 30 June 2017. Solar energy can be used in a number of ways. This includes:

¡¤   Heat in the form of hot water, building heat, solar cooking

¡¤ Electricity generation through photovoltaics and solar thermal, Stirling and other heat engines)

¡¤   Desalination of seawater, which implies taking the salt out so it can be used for drinking or growing crops.
