Thematic Report - Renewable Energy

by Sainath Manikandan | 21-10-2019 13:46

The energy that is available from sources such as solar power and wind power that will not deplete is Renewable Energy. Now-a-days we are producing power for our mother earth from other renewable sources such as hydropower, biomass, tidal power and geothermal power.

The main factor for using this type of energy is that the amount of potentially harmful emissions into the atmosphere is very less. We can use fossil fuels to create the products but most of the renewable energy forms can become carbon neutral in five years or less than that also.

Let¡¯s look at some of the advantages of using renewable energy.

Fossil fuels come only from a handful of countries. These countries decide upon the availability and pricing of the fuels. The other nations need to depend upon that handful of countries. The countries can try to develop their own renewable energy resources and become independent. It takes time to develop them.

Solar energy is abundant in most part of the world. We can use the sunlight that comes down on our planet every day and install solar panels and other collecting units. This can be used throughout the year.

Wind energy is also available and is created by the sun warmth. It is limitless.

The power produced from renewables are stable and usable. We can make use of the existing grids and power stations to minimize the installation costs.

Fossil fuels are created from natural resources and there are chances of depletion over time. Whereas renewable energies are created with the use of technology. As technological advances, the pricing of these energies will naturally go down.
