Over the years, the onslaught against the environment has increased in great extremities leading to need of generation of young people who will rise to the occasion and protect it. Promotion of environmental protection policies is becoming an increasingly clear need of the societies in the world. In this context, I have deliberated on honoring various young people in the world working on different inventions and interventions to protect our environment through sharing the devastating impacts of climate change to the world. Climate change posses host of threats to the surviving of humanity. The debilitating impacts of climate change has broadened the sphere of discourse much beyond the traditional concern like environment.

Environmental manipulation by humankind through:  release of toxic pollutants to the air, land and water by industries, role of healthcare in creation of hazardous wastes, use of agricultural products like pesticides has led to pollution by; impacting the natural ecosystem and  is expected to have substantial adverse effects on land, water and air quality.  Release of green house gases like carbon dioxide resulting from burning of fossil fuels are putting us on a pathway towards 4 degrees Celsius hotter world by 2100 leading to global warming, respiratory infections and depletion of ozone layer leading to skin cancer.

Water stress and water insecurity is expected to exacerbate the current stress on water resources due to drastic droughts led by humankind activities such as deforestation. Other effects include rise in sea levels, threat of tourism industry due to polluted seashores, corrosion of infrastructure and plant membranes due to acid rains and diverse impact on biodiversity.
When the issues are down looked humanity will continue living under threats created by its own kind. Therefore, we should all rise to the occasion and protect our own habitat.
