Menstruation

by Sukriti Pandit | 05-10-2019 20:14

Menstruation is a natural process that occurs in female every month. It is a common process but in developing country like, Nepal there are people who see it like taboo. Due to illiteracy or even ignorance, girls are not alloweded to walk out of the home during their period. In rural places they are kept in dark place for 4 to 5 days. But the awareness is increasing more and people are starting to see it less a taboo and more as a common thing.
Girls face more problem in their school time. 21% of adolescent girls miss 4 days of school every 4 weeks. If they are provided with sanitary pads, 98% are likely to attend school.
Today I saw a sanitary napkin vending machine in a Kathmandu. It is a machine that provides sanitary pad when you put a coupon or token. It is a easy process and a effective machine. This machine should be installed mostly in the places where girls can't get sanitary pads.
Vending machine This is not related to agriculture but I wanted to write it because this machine grabbed my attention and I wanted to share this with all of you.
Thank you
