In continuation of celebrating rabies week 2019, with the theme vaccinate to eliminate, we successfully conducted rabies vaccination program. Around 250 dogs and 45 cats were vaccinate at different rural areas of chitwan district, Nepal. This is not such a big umber but it will definitely make some contribution in eradicating rabies from the society. It was a great experience going to the local level and vaccinating pets as well as stray dogs. People were also made aware about rabies and ways to prevent through leaflets distribution.

The reason why we should vaccinate to the animals and human beings is because vaccination is the only way to prevent from it. There is no any treatment protocol after sign and a symptom is seen in patient. So, mass vaccination is the best way to eradicate. Next, all focus in dogs because major human death by rabies is due to the bite of rabid dogs. 70% of dogs in area needed to receive annual rabies vaccinations to create pack immunity.
