Mass Vaccination Programme on Rabies

Rabies is a terrific way to die. Once symptoms show it is 99.9% fatal, however it is 100% preventable.

Yes! Rabies is 100% vaccine preventable. And prevention starts with us. 

With this, on the occasion of ¡°World Rabies Day 2019¡±, Cretaive Veterinary Students¡¯ Association Nepal, organized a mass vaccination programme in collaboration with Veterinary

Teaching Hospital- IAAS, Nepal Veterinary Students¡¯ Association IAAS-TU,International Veterinary Students¡¯ Association (Paklihawa), One Health Nepal (Paklihawa), International Association Of Students in Agricultural and Related Science Local Committee Paklihawa, Youth for Conservation and Sustainable Agriculture, Youth Endeavour for Sustainable

Agriculture, Vets For Animal Welfare, on theme ¡®Vaccinate to eliminate¡¯ as a part of ¡° IAAS COLLECTIVE CAMPAIGN FOR RABIES

AWARENESS AND VACCINATION¡±.

The vaccination programme was carried out in IAAS periphery. The programme accompanied:
1. Vaccination of street dogs.
2. Marking of street dogs that are vaccinated.
3. Taking records of vaccinated dog. Records include- breed, colour, sex, age and location where dog is found.
4. Vaccination of other animals like cat.
5. Socializing with people to aware them about need of vaccination..

All the veterinarians of University were divided into several groups so no animals would be left unvaccinated. Altogether around 95 dogs were vaccinated. While visiting community, it was found that pet dogs were vaccinated against rabies in time. It shows people are being aware these days. Now, what we have to work for is to prevent street dogs and other animals from Rabies to prevent these animals as well as ourselves from Rabies. This is our main agenda of World Rabies Day 2019.
Never been in the past, CVSA successfully made it taking all the veterinarians, around 95 animals and community people together.

Protection for your cat, dog, family in nutshell is protection of a community from rabies.
