Youth And Environment

by Chitwan C | 30-09-2019 22:37

In the last decade several laws, rules, conventions etc have been made for protection the environment. But for the implementation of these youth has to plays a vital role by coming forward and incorporating these in the surroundings. From the day human beings are born, the share the most intimate relationship with environment. Worst part is that very little less time is given to caring about environment. The rapid growth in the world population, over use of nonrenewable sources of energy is a creating a pressure on the environment and earth.

The reason why active participation and involvement of youth is needed because they need to live a longer life on this planet as compared to the older generation.  Youth and the future generation will be the most affected by the depletion of environmental conditions. The best way to address the issue of environmental degradation is spreading awareness about environmental protection and environmental education. There should be awareness about the harm being caused on the ecosystem of the world and depletion of natural resources, also various ways to protect and prevent the degradation should be introduced.

The youth population today is aware about the changes happening in the environment. This is due to the social media presence in the society and specially the youth. Youth of today will have fresh ideas as they know the best way to spread awareness in the society. They can initiate miniature steps such as car pooling, use of solar energy, rainwater harvesting in their day to day life. These practices can be be started from home or school. The concept of 3 R¡¯s that is reuse, reduce, recycle should be made a part of daily life.  With the innovative minds of the youth it is very much possible to introduce the 3 R¡¯s in daily lives. The mechanism of segregation of waste is also a great way to improve environmental conditions. Using coloured dustbins, diagrams etc can be used by youth in regulating such functions.
