Young people have always been the key players on the field of environmental activism. Today, I believe that as young people we courageously play a key role in many environmental goals/policies and their implementation on the ground level and its full realization still remains one of the biggest challenges but also it presents opportunities for our generation.

The biggest challenge that we are facing today is the climate change and climate crisis and there is a huge need of finding new tools and educating approaches especially non formal tools to raise awareness of youths. I truly believe that Climate Action is one of the most important means of implementation of the future agenda.

Why? Because if we do not tackle climate change, the sustainable development goals will never work. We will never eradicate hunger if climate change wrecks our harvests. We will never provide water sanitation to all if global warming dries up our water sources and we will never ensure healthy lives if we do not become serious about clean and renewable energy.

As a young person I do believe that today’s decisions and actions won’t only affect my future but it will have the strength to radically change it to the best or the worst. Seeing the contemporary weak or somehow absent actions regarding environment and sustainable development, youth have the obligations more than ever to speak their voice and take action to assure the continues of a dignified and respectful life, to as and others on this dear earth.

Our planet is quite rich and it is a big shame that we people are exploiting its resources. Till now we did not learn how to care about natural resources and how to use them in the most optimal way. Environmental awareness is becoming one of the most serious problems in our life and just we can solve this problem. If we look around, we can see that many youth organizations and youth movements are organizing some seminars, courses and concrete actions on this direction. Only young people can meet international requirement of changing the reality by making it safer and better. All we need is to work in team- One for all and all for one.

Youth are the most energetic group of society; they have the capacity to change the current situations by taking corrective measures. Hence, given a chance to serve for any social or environmental cause; they work without any discrimination. I believe that youth have power to make change and that change only can help us in achieving environmental goals and targets for a better future.

One of the major tasks of young people is to create awareness. Let the world know what’s going on. In order to do it, we need to augment to power of NGOs and have the support of the media.

This is our chance to create a better world and we can’t waste it.
