by Israel Adeoye | 18-09-2019 23:52

The environment is simply defined as our surrounding, including both living and non-living things. Environmental problems are rising daily. Hence, these calls for immediate attention. The attention these problems calls for greatly require the contribution of youths as their relevance to preferring solutions cannot be overemphasized.

Youth are active and energetic and they have the ability to adapt to changes. These qualities are very useful to the development of our environment as implementation of laws and policies towards environmental conservation requires the public to be given to change and ready to play their role sustaining the environment.

The following activities are recommended for youth from all-around the world:

1. Stop indiscriminate deforestation and encourage afforestation

2. Save paper: avoid taking unnecessary printouts. Use recycled paper.

3. Limit the use of air-conditioners- build up your tolerance levels and get used to living in natural whether and climatic conditions.

4. Stop using deodorant and aerosol sprays.

5. Conserve electricity. Switch off the lights, fans, air-conditioners/heaters when leaving a room.

6. Save water where possible. Turn off the faucet when not in use

7. Appreciate trekking some distance together with friends

8. Carpool if you have to drive.

9. Use less plastic. Use bio-degradable materials.

If we put our best to be engaged in the above listed activities, though may seem simple, it is certain we are contributing greatly to environmental conservation.
