by Baraka E Urio | 18-08-2023 15:30

Introduction.
Water, as we all know its the universal solvent, its more crucial in our daily life, no water no life.
Water is the part of food, water is regarded as food due to its dissolving character and act as the one of the important food in the balanced diet chain.
So when we define water security we will relate with food security in other way.
water security is the condition where water is accessible, available(enough), sustainable and safe for consumption, if one of these conditions is deviated water is stated to be insecure.
Water sustainability, is regarded as condition of keeping water for present consumption and for future use, water security through sustainability can be achieved through protecting water bodies from drought (Environmental protection).

Environmental changes can alter food and water security by 90%, afforestation, providing education to our society on climate change, use of technology in preventing pollution, eradicating the use of green house gases, and other positive acts that can protect our environment can be the big factors and acts to improve water and food security in our world.

Water security is crucial in these areas.
1. Health;- In the introduction I discussed balanced diet a bit and water is among of the balanced diet category, if we lack water our nutritional health will be affected in 100%, water is highly dependent for human survival, Without enough clean water, we cannot keep ourselves hydrated and clean, or provide sanitation services for ensuring our health is kept in a good condition.

2.Productive economies: As we all know that agricultural activities are water dependent, in most countries agriculture contributes more than 35% of the GDPs, and when individual households can¡¯t provide for themselves, society can¡¯t achieve economic stability, much less growth. However, by improving water security in an area, we can foster economic growth, empowering livelihoods activities to succeed.

3.Ecosystems: In all chains of ecosystem water is the crucial component for survival, Human needs are only one factor to consider when we think about water security. Ecosystems also rely on water, and rapidly deteriorate in its absence, thus endangering the many livelihoods and resources they provide.

4.Livelihoods: Water is not only essential to life; it¡¯s essential to the ways we secure our other basic necessities. Water fuels agriculture, energy production, transportation, and so many other activities which sustain human life.
