![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() International Day of Peace is observed on September 21 each year all over the world. This day is marked to strengthen peace both within the country and with all other countries. The main aim of adopting the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by the United Nations was to build and develop a peaceful world. In order to achieve that we need to develop both socially and economically. The theme for this year is ¡°Climate Action for Peace¡±. This is the need of the hour to combat climate change. By doing so, we are protecting our mother earth, which will in turn promote a peaceful life throughout the world. Serious threats and dangers due to the change in climate are affecting the peace, security and stability of most of the nations in the world. In recent days, we could find that the number of natural disasters and calamities have drastically increased all over the word, thereby tampering the peace of millions and billions of people. Various measures needs to be incorporated by Governments in order to beat and combat climate change. Then only we can achieve a peaceful world. There are various measures and actions taken by the youth today to tackle the crisis such as the following: Using ecofriendly products Practice environment friendly ways Protect and preserve natural resources Raise environmental awareness I have organized for a drawing/painting competition for youth to display their talent in drawing on the topic ¡°Peace¡±. You may please pass on this information in your friends circle. Children aged 7 to 10 years old are most welcome to send in your entries to loveallserveall.peace@gmail.com. |
