Program Review: Short review about Tunza Eco-generation Ambassadors Program

by Israel Adeoye | 16-08-2019 06:59

One of the most notable achievements for me in year 2018 was the honour to be the 21st Eco generation Regional Ambassador to my home country, Nigeria. My move to represent my home country on this platform stem of my passion to ensure proper environmental management in Nigeria.

I was awarded the elite position of an Eco-generation Regional Ambassador (to Nigeria) in August 2018 and my term, as a result of successful completion, was extended in March, 2019 till now. It has really been a time of productive and exciting time of contributing to environmental conservation locally and globally.

My participation in the Tunza Eco-generation ambassadors has really widened my vision and has made my passion to become an engineer whose focus is to ensure proper environmental management stronger. During my 1st and current term, I had opportunities to meet and know like minds such as Rosa Domingos, Nikolay, Kushal, Deepak and other co-ambassadors. Though we are far away from one another, the TUNZA Eco-generation platform has us brought together, under one goal - to protect the mother earth.

The elite position of an Eco-generation regional ambassador has offered me opportunities to increase my writing skills due to the monthly reports and articles I write, and has also widen my knowledge about environmental conservation as a result of researches and reading articles and reports from ambassadors. Also, participating in the Essay writing and other monthly events and competitions have been interesting. As an Ambassador to Nigeria, I have carried out various environmental activities and assignments such as campaign, forum, group discussion in other to the raise the awareness of people to environmental conservation and their responsibility to ensuring that we have a cleaner world. These activities have really improved my knowledge both professionally and academically.

I must register my gratitude to Samsung Engineering and UNEP for creating such a unique platform from young ones from all around the world. I am also grateful to TUNZA Eco-generation for giving me the opportunity to represent my country till now.  Thanks to my Mentors during my previous term, Joon Ho and Gyeongrin and my current mentors Wonhee and Louis, I must confess I appreciate your efforts to making sure that not just one or some, but all of the ambassadors successfully complete their term.  Your comments, suggestions and contributions have been enriching.

And to all Regional Ambassadors and Members of TUNZA Eco-generation, Greater days ahead!
