![]() ![]() ![]() When I was around eight years old, I used to hear about small issues like littering and waste at my school. These were just small issues at the time, but when I started noticing how these issues kept increasing around, I decided to do what I could do as a third grader to help reduce these issues. Ever since then, I have always taken my environmental responsibility very seriously and done my bit towards the environment. My environmental work kept increasing gradually and I took a lot of interest in the small activities I used to take part in. When I turned twelve I noticed how my older brother used to document his environmental journey on this platform. I took the same path and followed his steps. That is how I got introduced to tunza eco generation. Ever since my first few days here, my passion and willingness to work for the environment has only enhanced, enriched and grown. I initially started as a member that took pride in writing articles on general issues concerning the environment weekly. I took this a step further when I started hosting my own eco events with my environmental group. Even at this stage I always encouraged my friends and peers to join this platform and share their experiences. When I became more often in writing my reports and events, I was promoted to the position of an ambassador for UAE. This really encouraged me to do more for not only in my area and neighbourhood but also go beyond and conduct activities in other emirates. That was just a short introduction to how I got so interested in this lovely platform. Tunza Eco generation has been a great place where I have learnt a variety of things that do not only limit to the environment. Through the same platform I have been very encouraged and motivated to research and find out more information on the vast number of issues that currently exist and solutions to them. I was also invited to be a part of the Junior Engineering Academy last year and the 4 days that I spent in Seoul, South Korea not only made me learn a lot more about sustainable living and infrastructure but also made me meet and interact with people with the same passion as me from all over the world. Over the years, my experience has really developed and I can only thank Tunza Eco Gen for that. I am very grateful to be appointed as an ambassador for the past 4 terms and glad to be able to share my experiences with nature with the new friends that I made over the years. I also feel very inspired when I read the other articles written by my fellow peers. I am truly honored to be given the opportunity to be a regional ambassador the UAE and really thank Tunza Eco Gen for giving me this chance to express myself. I will make sure I do justice to the role I am given in the future too. |
