Sustainable Development and its environment.

by Rohan Kapur | 14-08-2019 00:35

We have seen tremendous industrial development in past 6-7 decades throughout the globe. Majority of it was not sustainable initially but gradually as the awareness was spread, more & more sustainable development occurred worldwide.

Sustainable development helps the environment in great ways. For example Vehicle emissions were a great contributor to air pollution but development of Hybrid, Electric & Natural Gas propelled vehicles changed the scenario. Moreover, the vehicular engines were developed to be more eco-friendly. Normal Petrol & Diesel engines emits far less CO2 as compared to the same 2-3 decades ago. This is a great example of sustainable development.

In order to produce paper, a big number of trees used to be cut and this caused many forests to become barren. Sustainable development of planting more trees has helped a lot. Recycling awareness has been arisen many folds due to development of recycling centers. People are encouraged to recycle paper and infrastructure has also been created to make this happen. Sustainable development of recycling industry has helped the environment in a big way. Not only paper, the recycling facilities are for plastic, cans, textiles, wood, building material & so on so forth.

I have been involved in many environmental projects, workshops and drives. I have always made sure not to leave an impact of the same on environment. A true eco-warrior is such as to be sustainable in all actions. When we are conducting an eco-workshop it is very important to take care of the environment. Take small actions such as avoid printing papers, use e-mails & other soft versions of information exchange.
In this modern Era true development is that which takes care of environmental aspects & thus called sustainable development.
