Theme report-review about Tunza Eco-generation Ambassadors Program

by Lohita Swaminathan | 05-08-2019 02:41

I have been a member of this esteemed Tunza Ambassador program since Feb 2016. It has been a great time since then since I view the following invaluable benefits of being a member of such a program. I was initially representing UAE and then moved on to write about the Middle East.

The biannual membership brings people from across the world to know each other. The members are brought together for an important purpose – To learn together, share the knowledge and enhance the well-being of this planet.

Being from UAE which has a multi-cultural population, I love the interaction with a global audience. The views, problems and solution from across the world are brought to this portal for enriching our awareness. It feels so good to receive appreciation and comments from many members and also I make sure to read the posts and comment.

The methodology to conduct awareness campaigns and spread knowledge in neighborhood gives me immense satisfaction of having done something good for a common cause. The gifts from the organizers are cool, it makes the campaign events more interesting when we organize Q&A sessions and gift the goodies to the participants.

The categorization of the articles helps to refer to the relevant topics and read them to enhance my knowledge. The articles also highlight the universal difficulties faced by members in reducing consumption and recycling of waste, nevertheless I learn about different ideas for progressing towards the 3 R¡¯s.

The competitions conducted by Tunza are interesting. I used to participate and win in earlier years but I have to acknowledge the fact that school workload keeps me off from active participation in such competitions.

As a means to improve the portal, I also wish to state that often the site does not respond forcing me to quit the session and revisit. Tunza mentor team can look into this problem if faced by other members also.

Last but not the least, the site is very ably managed by the mentors and it¡¯s so special when they read and leave their comments for each of the articles by all the ambassadors. My sincere thanks and congratulations to all mentors for being so dedicated and keeping us motivated at all times, to UNEP and Samsung Engineering for making this happen and to all former and fellow ambassadors who have been great friends.
