The Global Goals [Sustainable Development]

by Merry Firdissa | 18-07-2019 20:21

There are seventeen sustainable development goals that the international community has set to try and fulfill. These goals all focus on creating an all rounded environment in which all people can live in harmoniously. These goals are non partial and so it is to the benefit of us all if we could help fulfill one goal at a time.
The goals all in all are a try in eliminating every barrier there is between dreams and reality for everyone. It is a try on creating an equal opportunity for everyone without considering all the factors that would disable the probability of equality to exist. It would allow a girl from a remote village who has no means of communication with the outside world to have the same access to things like education or healthcare or any other necessity a girl from a developed nation would access easily.
Personally, this is one of the reasons I am grateful I exist on earth for. The fact that there is a stand against poverty or that there is somebody to report to when a child works underage just makes the fight easier for those of us who can not stand to watch anybody's freedom being trampled upon.
When an international community decides to speak up for those nobody would never bat an eyelid for, it just says so much about humanity. And as humans, if we are hesitant to help another human who just happened to be born under different circumstance, then we have failed at humanity. But thankfully the international community has come to the rescue so now we are all given the chance to act accordingly to improve life all around the globe.
Therefore, it is not the duty of the people who came up with this goals to have the mission at hand fulfilled. It is also every single person's responsibility to engage and create a better, sustainable environment on earth.
