by Sachin Regmi | 20-04-2019 16:11

Alongside the natural beauty and ancient monuments all over the city, the poor air quality of Kathmandu has been gaining attention in the last couple of years. Although some serious jobs are being employed to curb the crisis the intensity of problem has remained almost the same. In this report I will be talking about the conversion of blue sky off Kathmandu to dusty spaces all over. Let's get straight into this.

Developing cities like Kathmandu are busy with their development of infrastructures including roadways and huge workspace. The management of waste from these projects are major culprits for the crisis. The construction and improvement of road network inside the city is causing the dust to mix with air and thus being a problem. Additionally, the old vehicles, Smoke form industrial areas and similar activities are adding more to the misery.

The consequence of the pollution is severe. It is told that more than 8% of total population has been associated with some kind of respiratory diseases. Additionally, Chronic obstructive airways disease, silicosis, skin allergy and long-term exposure to dust expose to lung cancer in the long run are at the peak.

Recommendation: Since the problem is temporary peoples are advised to use glasses, masks and long sleeve clothes whenever they are out at the space. This is providing some thing to hope for.
