The recent occurrence of Typhoon Egay and its destructive aftermath underscores the severity of climate change impacts in the Philippines. Climate change is causing a rise in extreme weather events, sea-level rise, and shifts in precipitation patterns, leading to devastating consequences for communities, agriculture, and infrastructure. This article delves into the detailed causes and consequences of climate change in the Philippines, specifically focusing on the recent example of Typhoon Egay. Additionally, we will explore short-term and long-term strategies to counteract climate abnormalities and reduce the vulnerability of the nation to such calamities.

Causes of Climate Change in the Philippines:
Greenhouse Gas Emissions: One of the primary drivers of climate change is the emission of greenhouse gases (GHGs) into the atmosphere. The Philippines, like many other countries, contributes to these emissions through activities such as burning fossil fuels for energy, deforestation, and industrial processes.
