![]() Trees also play a critical role in absorbing the greenhouse gases that fuel global warming. They give Oxygen to breathe out. Trees are so much important. Every one of us know how important trees are to us too. But Do we really contribute to its protection? Is the current question that receives negative answer from most of the people saying, ¡°No, I haven¡¯t.¡± Trees contribute to their environment by providing oxygen, improving air quality, climate amelioration, conserving water, preserving soil, and supporting wildlife. Although trees and forest are so much important to us, the deforestation is quite high the world. The world¡¯s rain forests could completely vanish in a hundred years at the current rate of deforestation. The Earth loses 18.7 million acres of forests per year, which is equal to 27 soccer fields every minute, according to the World Wildlife Fund (WWF). The scale of tree destruction, much of it done illegally, poses a grave threat to tackling both climate change and the massive global decline in wildlife. March 21st is celebrated as International Day of Forests. This year the International Day of Forests promotes education to Learn to Love Forests with the theme ¡°Forest and Education¡±. Understanding our forests and keeping them healthy is crucial for our future. It underscores the importance of education at all levels in achieving sustainable forest management and biodiversity conservation. Healthy forests mean healthy, resilient communities and prosperous economies. It will seek to raise awareness on how sustainably managed forests provide a wide array of contribution in this area. Sustainably managed forest is a direct need of this point of time; one being the wide array of contributions and other being the rampant exploitation. In this situation, the need to preserve forest is significant than ever before. Happy International day of Forest Together for Green Earth. Lets all celebrate this day 😊 😊 Reference: http://www.un.org/en/events/forestsday/ |
