March 22
World Water Day

No one can live without water, isn't it? World Water Day is an annual UN observance day that highlights the importance of freshwater. The day is used to advocate for the sustainable management of freshwater resources. World Water Day is celebrated around the world with a variety of events. These can be educational, theatrical, musical or lobbying in nature.

This year, we students of agriculture and veterinary sciences made visit to Siddhababa dam side. Nepal is the second richest country in water resources after Brazil. But some resources are in vulnerable condition, while some are well maintained. Siddhababa dam is located near siddhababa temple in Palpa.

Apart from electricity production, it's used as recreation. It borders butwal and palpa. Butwal is hot in climate. People from Butwal mostly visits dam for recreation and fun especially in summer. People visit here mostly in summer because water is cold here. There are numbers of fishes. People use their fishing rod to catch fish. Environment is green and fresh over there.

From people we came to know that, dam side was beautiful before than now. Nowadays people are making pollution throwing wastes. It has affected dam water as well as aquatic animals. This isn't a good change.

That's why, we must treasure the water resources; gift of nature.
