![]() Many people associate climate and climatic change with the weather and that might be understandable since both are associated with temperature change but climate is a temperature change over many years unlike the weather which we see getting foretasted daily on our news media devices. The weather is different for different locations and is due to factors like altitude. Climate encompasses weather. Climate is a big scale issue that affects and drives our Eco-system and it does not change as easily as the weather would. Climate is a like a powerhouse. It is like the final product of the work daily weather puts into it. To make it simpler, we can see it like the grade a student would get by studying and getting examined on regular basis. The effort put into mid-exam and final exams makes or breaks the student¡¯s final result. The result happens over time through consistency and so that the final product is the average performance of each of the steps. The same theory applies to the way a climate is evaluated. Although on a big scale, it is the hour to hour, day to day and month to month evaluation of change in weather that makes up a climate. So if the goal is to fix the climate or at least preserve it, the step that needs to be focused on it its making or on the weather. But how can one work on weather you might ask. Well, the weather is the state of humidity, temperature, precipitation, wind, cloud cover of an area. Therefore, it is affected by the actions we take towards causing these factors to rise or else deplete but mostly rise. If we could work on such environmental factors which will in turn add up to make a better weather, and in the long run climate, we can avoid undesired climatic change. When it comes to the climate, everything is interconnected. Every action taken towards the environment will affect the future climate somehow. But the reason we take action towards the environmental protection should not be because of fear of the unknown in the future. It is a given to care for the environment. We should not even look for reasons to do so, it is the habitat that sustains us so the least we can do is not stand in its way and in doing so we avoid the irreversible. It was supposed to be a natural cycle; this cycle takes care of its self and has been fine until we came to inhabit it. We humans like discovery and so we discovered ways to make the cycle break and now environmental issues are a hot topic everywhere. The problem is us and the solution too. We should learn from nature because it is the best teacher. Take for example hummingbirds, these birds when they see a flower they admire, they approach but never settle on it. They hover around the flower and pick on the insects inside. These birds admire flowers and do their part in protecting its nature. On the contrary, what do we humans do when we see a flower we admire? We cut it. Climate change is a universal topic. It is among the few issues that make us unite. And that being a good outcome out of this issue, the losses still outweigh the good outcomes. Few are the people who care at all about the future for if we all had cared, we would have united and the subject would no longer be a debating point. It would have promised a better future for all of creation. We as humans if we need reasons to make environmental protection a priority, there is really something wrong with us. But you might say ¡°of course we do consider it a priority¡± well then the actions that follow should be acting on the solution. It starts by picking up plastics on the streets while you are in rush on your way to school. If you cannot influence others, let your actions do, like the hummingbird.
