Abnormal climate change in Pyin Oo Lwin city

by Thawdar Aung | 04-03-2019 01:42

What happened to Pyin Oo Lwin (POL) recently?

POL (1088 meters above mean sea level) is one of the most famous city in Myanmar for it's perfect weather and clean environment. People choose POL for summer holidays as it's weather is not too hot rather than neighbouring cities. However, the weather in POL has changed moderately during last few months. We can feel the heat just before we enter the city.

Firstly, one thing I noticed concerning about this change is because of deforestation. As the demand for good transportation, the government made new high-way road to POL.  Due to new road, travel time is now 1/2 time less compared to the old road. One the other hand, tons of trees had to be cut for the sake of good road transport. For that reason, climate in POL has changed steadily to the bad. The POL weather nowadays is just in the satisfactory level not like in the past which people can breathe fresh air and fair enough weather days.

Secondly, the new high-way is vital for nation's economic development in many ways. At the same time, the government and the people should grow more trees in POL area to cover the land with great weather conditions. As we all know, only trees are the basic source to maintain marvelous weather. Besides, local people who don't have the proper knowledge will not know the effect of burning dead leaves and rubbish.

Last but not least, it is obvious that lacks of trees and not conserving the resources will lead to the worst situation. That's why people who know well how to handle these weather situations in POL should educate to other people to respect  their environment by helping in growing more trees and not by burning trash. So that, POL can become the best city to live in Myanmar again.

Humidity-49% [measurement as by 11:06 pm in POL]
