There are many beautiful landscapes and natural beauties in Korea. Korea is a country with many mountains, three different oceans, and many islands. I bet you can just go anywhere and say ¡°Wow! Now that¡¯s a beauty!¡± I picked this one iconic spot where the place but the hidden meaning inside it is much beautiful than the place itself. The place that I would like to introduce you is (drum roll) the DMZ!

Demilitarized Zone, or DMZ is located between the boarder that divides Korea into two; North Korea and South Korea. This part of the land belongs to both of us but people other than those who have the authorization can go in there. This is why the environment in the DMZ is untouched by humans and by the meaning of that; the nature itself. It has been untouched since July 27th, 1957. This is the day when Korea was divided into two. North Korea and South Korea went through the Korean War and have declared the ceasefire agreement. We cannot say that we are in peace but we are not in the middle of a war. After that, peace had continued until now and until now the DMZ has been as it is 52 years ago.

The absence of human has let the environment in DMZ to prosper in its own way or by Mother Nature. This is how there are a different types of special species of animals and plants that are believed to be treasures of Korea. Some people even say that it is a wildlife haven. However, even though the animals can live inside the DMZ, it cannot get out if it cannot fly. That means it is limited and it cannot meet the rest of its species that are prospering in different parts of Korea. This goes the same for people in North Korea and South Korea. There are a lot of families who have been torn apart by the war and cannot meet together unless we reunite again.
