There is a variety of plastic straw alternative ranging from bamboo straw to glass straw. The most favored one would be the stainless steel straw due to its cheap price and durability. Before, these alternatives would usually be owned and used by environmentalist only. Now, the common people have started to own and use them as well.

From my observation on social media, there are a handful of people I follow that are selling stainless steel straw and also people who uses them as well. These straws have a variety of colors, like gold and black. They have different models as well, which are straight straw, bent straw, and larger tube straw. They can be bought in packets or per pieces. Whatever may be the choice, these straws would definitely come with a brush cleaner. The brush cleaner is important for cleaning the inside of the straw, making sure that no residue from the previous drink is left inside.

Seeing my friends using stainless steel straw to drink, I can say that the use of plastic straw is slowly decreasing. I don’t know what exactly made this trend happen, but I have suspicions that it is due to the banning of plastic straw in a couple of fast food chains.
