Recycling – My Goal

by Rohan Kapur | 15-02-2019 20:54

Dear Fellow ambassadors, I love my mother earth. Even though, all of you are dedicated & committed to care for the environment, I am sharing my bit of effort in this direction.

I & My family takes care not to throw any recyclable item in the garbage. We keep collecting the same and submit to the local recycling agency for their onward processing.

I collect Plastic Bottles, Newspaper, E-waste and Cans and likes. These items seems very innocent but trust me guys if we throw all this in trash, it will land at the top of land-fill and will not decompose in many decades to come.

In order to take this care all governments all over the world spend millions to manage the land-fills. Singapore is disposing its garbage at a separate island as there is no space in their tiny nation to keep the land-fills. The Semakau Landfill is Singapore's first and only landfill situated offshore among the southern islands of Singapore. It covers a total area of 3.5 square kilometres and has a capacity of 63 million m©ø.

The UAE is deeply committed to achieve zero waste to landfills, therefore they organize regular recycling campaigns. I take care to participate in many of them. But my regular action is collecting and submitting recyclables to the local recycling center.

Dear ambassadors, please do share your experience with recycling. Thanks for reading.
