I have a question for you guys. What if we had a chemical that could solve global warming if we sprayed it in the air. Would you use it without thinking about the problems or risks that might happen in the future?

Published in the journal Environmental Research Letters on Nov 23 by researchers from Harvard and Yale University, they concluded that ‘stratospheric aerosol injection’ could slow down global warming. This is spraying chemicals into the atmosphere to reflect the sun’s heat back into space so even though the Earth gets warm, it happens slowly. We could spray the large amount of chemical by using huge airplanes carry tanks to fill them in and be able to spray them in high altitude.

Also, this way is available if one determined country decided to do this. The cost is half the price large cities spend on their highways, subways, a total of about $3.5 billion for developing the technology.

But, there is a problem. Just because we spray the chemicals don’t mean we actually solve or reverse global warming. Also, scientists are still not sure what risks or problems will happen in the future. Moreover, they are assuming the climate after this happens won’t be same. Some places will be hotter, some places will be cooler.
