While other planets in the Earth's solar system are either scorching hot or bitterly cold, Earth's surface has relatively mild and stable temperatures. Earth enjoys most of these temperatures because of it's atmosphere which is the thin layer of gases that cloak and protect the planet. However, most scientists agree that humans have changed the Earth's atmosphere in dramatic ways over the past centuries and this has led to global warming.
Green house gases which include carbondioxide , nitrous oxide , methane , water vapour and many others act as a blanket which absorbs strong radiations such as ultraviolet and infrared radiation and preventing these gases from escaping into the outer space.
Health impacts of temperature extremes, specificallyof heat waves can be a killer. This is because it can lead to multiplication of tropical diseases and pests to new land which did not have them before. Furthermore, global warming increases the occurrence of extreme weather events . Including severe storms , floods and droughts. Potential for change in the seasonal patterns in geographical distribution of some vector-borne diseases thereby affecting the health of the environment. However, a moist atmosphere also holds more moisture so the chance of extreme rainfall and flooding continues to rise in some regions with rain storm surges and coastal flooding.
From the information presented here and many other we often come across , it can clearly be seen that that global warming has alot of effects on the health of the environment.
