![]() As I began to take inventory of the passing year (2018), it was needful for me to note the achievements and progress in the year. I must sincerely say that the year 2018 has been a year of achievements for me. One of the most notable of them all is the golden opportunity TUNZA Eco generation offered me to first, be a member of this intercontinental Environmental Networking Platform, and second, to be awarded an elite position of the 21st Eco-generation ambassador to my beloved country Nigeria. I got to know about TUNZA Eco-genwration, an Environmental Networking Platform for Children and Youth by Samsung Engineering and UNEP in June, 2018. I got to know about this eco-mind-building platform through a whatsapp group I happen to be a member. The link to TUNZA website was sent to the group and from there it resulted to a success. I submitted Application for the position of an ambassador to Nigeria on environmental issues and I was shortlisted on the 22nd August, 2018. I really register my gratitude toTUNZA Eco-generaation, and the supporting organisations (Samsung Engineering and UNEP) for having such a vision of grooming young ones to ensuring proper environmental management in their regional levels till it becomes global. Sincerely, I am yet to see or come across an Environmental Networking platform of similar vision and mission as that of TUNZA Eco generation. I really appreciate the rare occasion of representing my region (Nigeria) in other to contribute my quota to the development of it's environmental sector. Also, I, and I believe all beneficiaries of various gifts, awards, certificates and materials from our supporting organisations (Samsung and UNEP) do really appreciate them. My sincere appreciation also goes to our well-admired 21st Ambassadors' Mentors (Joon Hoo and Gyeogrin) for their notable and inspiring contributions and comments to our reports and articles. Without you, maybe we ambassadors might not have gone this far with our responsibilities. Despite your busy schedules, you still drop your comments meaningfully on our reports and articles. As Deepak has once written about you, "you have really been inspiring mentors to us". I would not have stopped writing if I don't acknowledge the contribution of my co-ambassadors in this journey so far. To my top friends, Rosa, Deepak, Kushal, Boniface and Nahayta, I would like to appreciate the friendship that you have permitted to be built among us despite the difference geographic locations, religion and background. To achieve this anticipated global environmental protection, all forms of differences really have to be defeated...that, TUNZA Eco-generation has taught us. Your contributions, comments, appreciation, greetings, suggested joint-projects have made the journey interesting. We hope to see one another one day. Till then, keep the fire burning! I appreciate the contributions of all other co-ambassadors and all members of TUNZA Eco-generation platform. My association with TUNZA Eco-generation has really got me closer to my dream of becoming a globally recognised Environmental Engineer. I conclude this write-up with this... As it is just 3 days until the end of the 2018, it is important we are reminded of the need to reignite our commitment to ensuring proper environmental management as we enter into the year 2019. Let your attitude in the coming year(2019) be more eco-friendly and be obedient to both new and existing environmental laws. Remember, the protection of the beauty of our environment is a collective responsibility. Season greetings and happy new year in advance to you all. Israel Adeoye, 21st Eco-generation Regional Ambassador to Nigeria.
