I have never watched a movie that has an overarching environmentalist theme but I love the Black Panther. Black Panther was released early this year by Marvel Studios. It broke a number of records. What makes it exceptional is that it constituted a predominantly black cast. Black Panther is a hero movie set in a fictional African country known as Wakanda. Wakanda is endowed with Vibranium, a rare metal that can absorb any kinetic energy directed to it. But unlike the countries surrounding it, that are waging war over natural resources, Wakanda is thriving in peace. It is using this precious resource wisely to develop itself technologically. Now many countries in Africa are rich in precious minerals but they are often the reason why these countries degenerate into endless wars. This something we can borrow from Wakanda. Natural resources if managed well, would change the plight of many countries. In Wakanda, they keep Rhinos as pets. That blew me away ![]() |
