The Most Impressive Movie or Book Related to Environmental Issues

"The Day After Tomorrow" is a movie that depicts the coming of a new Ice Age on Planet Earth. Based on a book called "The Coming Global Superstorm", this movie showcases the catastrophic climate changes that lead to a worldwide temperature drop and large-scale destruction and disaster.
It is a futuristic, alt-reality, science-fiction film, which emphasizes the need to protect out shared habitat. The moviemakers have also used the film as a political tool by showing the upper-echelons of the government as unconcerned of and dismissive about the impending effects of unsustainable human activity. This is certainly true as many of the prominent world leaders and politicians are systematic climate change denialists. It is saddening to see an issue as grave as global warming brushed off as a ploy to hinder industrialisation.
Some of the details are certainly true, as these are things we might see unfolding in a few years, including dangerously high sea-levels, destructive storm, changed weather patterns, disrupted ocean patterns, etc.
Even though it isn't always scientifically precise, it is a laudable effort to make people aware of the possible consequences our reckless activities can have. By making such a film on a such a large scale, the issue of global warming was brought to the forefront and people's imaginations were fired by seeing the visuals of great cities like New York completely destroyed.
Anthropogenic climate change is the biggest cause of concern today. It deals with the entirety of our existence on our planet. It is our job to protect and preserve our fragile ecosystem.
