by Kushal Naharki | 13-11-2018 22:42

During my festival vacation, I visited ¡°International Mountain Museum¡± at Pokhara.  I was very happy see the Climate Change issue being illustrated inside the museum. Climate Change has been a burning issue around the world. There were facts about the climate change, causes of the climate change and the different environment related issues. Around three lakhs tourist visit this museum and it was a good initiative taken by the Museum to include Climate Change inside the museum.

International Mountain Museum

Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA), established on 1 Nov 1973, initiated the establishment of International Mountain Museum (IMM) in Pokhara. The basic objective for its establishment was made to record, document and chronicle the past and present development of mountaineering activities in the world in general and to preserve the saga of the momentous feats in the history of mountaineering in the Himalayan peaks in particular. The foundation stone of IMM was laid on 1 Dec, 1995. The soft opening of IMM took place on 29 May, 2002 where it was officially opened on 5 Feb, 2004. With an objective of maintaining systematic records of the successful eight thousands, geographic flora and fauna and human activities in the range, the International mountain Museum has been established at the foot step of fishtail peak and gate way to the mountain region.

We must manage our time and visit such places. As a climate and environment activist, I felt very happy and proud to see this initiative. We must always support and encourage such good initiative to aware more people to aware people about climate change. It is very necessary to aware people about the climate change in the every possible ways.
