![]() Actually the issue of climate change first came into my mind by watching a movie in 2004. The name of the movie was ¡°The Day After Tomorrow¡±. After watching this movie I become so scared about the consequences of global warming that I couldn¡¯t forget the scenes for many days. The movie was about mainly affects of global warming. In the movie they showed the ice of Antarctic starts to melt. Several buoys in the Atlantic Ocean show a severe ocean temperature drop. Eventually, a massive storm system develops in the northern hemisphere, splitting into three superstorms above Canada, Scotland, and Siberia. The gigantic hurricane-like storms pull frozen air from the upper troposphere into their center, flash-freezing anything caught in their eyes with temperatures below −150 degrees Fahrenheit (-101 degrees Celsius). Meanwhile, the weather worsens across the world; Tokyo is struck by a giant hail storm, sea levels in Nova Scotia rise 25 feet (7 meters) in a matter of seconds, and Los Angeles is devastated by a tornado outbreak. As the North American storm continues to grow and move south, a rising wall of water forms in the vicinity of Ellis Island, swallowing the Statue of Liberty and bound straight for the city; the several-dozen-foot-high storm surge soon strikes New York, washing through city streets and sweeping away everything in its path. I was totally horrified by the events that tookplace in this movie. It created an impact in my little heart. |
