![]() Hi guys! What¡¯s up, Rocky back here! I¡¯m here with my October Topic article ¡®Policy/policies I would like to establish for my nation¡¯. I¡¯m a South Korean but I¡¯m living in Thailand, so I¡¯ll write with my nation ¡¯Thailand¡¯! Thailand is famous and renowned for tourists that visit here each year. A lot of tourists do come by and have fun. Walk by streets, you¡¯ll find varieties of street food starting from rice noodles, drinks, ice creams to cooked fish! I think street foods are one of the cultures Thailand can boast about. Also, Thailand has lots of markets, coffee shops, convenience stores. They¡¯re everywhere! However, this culture can also hurt Thailand badly. Think about it. What do you think street ice-cream sellers put food in? Coated paper cup and plastic bag! What about rice noodles? Plastic bags! Not only this, Thailand¡¯s market use quite a lot of plastic carrier bags and here I say again, A LOT. Most of these get dumped in sewers, streets and if makes Thailand¡¯s environment egregious. There are some stores and shops that try to reduce usages of plastic bags and ¡®Seven-Eleven(7-11), the largest convenient store company started their won campaign with reducing plastic bags. This helps, but majority of people still waste a lot. So, I would like to establish a policy about banning the uses of plastic bags. Yep, totally. These days, there are lots of people who use their own reusable bags instead of plastic carrier bags in markets, including our family. Before establishing this policy, I want the Thai government and bag companies to brainstorm and make a eco-friendly reusable bag and give it out to people with a reasonable price. I really hope this policy gets established in Thailand, not only here but other countries too! Thanks! |
