     In celebration of the world cleanup day which was held today (15th day of September 2018), we conducted an environmental sensitization and awareness program in our local community. We talked to various people on the market, streets and homes in order to find out their views on sanitation and health. It was then observed that many felt such is exclusively the responsibility of the Government and that they had no say as far as issues of the environment are concerned. We later talked to them about proper ways of waste disposal and encouraged them to take charge of sanitation and health in their areas of residence. After this was done, we cleaned up a local market and some near by streets. The response we got from volunteers was overwhelming. We look forward to more of such events. This goes to show that we as ambassadors have alot of work at hand. Let us do our best to change people's attitudes towards the environment |
