![]() On the 7th of September, a Berg Resource quality objective training programme was held within the Department of Water and Sanitation in Cape Town. The main objective was to educate the process and analysis of aquifers in the Cape Town region so as to track groundwater quality and groundwater quantity. ![]() Department of Water and Sanitation banners. The event was attended by members of the surface water and geohydrology departments and a member the Delta Consultancy. The training contained actual solutions in the case of finding alternative manners of exploring groundwater for the water stricken city. ![]() Department of Water and Sanitation members and the Delta Consultant speaker. Dam levels in the Western Cape has risen to 69%, and water rations has dropped from level 6B to level 5 but it is imperative to have alternative means of supplying water. Not only for the natural cycle of ecosystems but for the livelihood of citizens and that's what the training was all about.
