![]() In my previous article, I typed about what my major could do. but fast forward to 2018, i want to highlight the progress that my major have brought me in, In June, I wrote an article about a competition I entered called Wetskills 2018. Now the project that my teammates and I conducted was a water related one infusing the Department of Water ans Sanitation of South Africa and the Department of Water Affairs in Lesotho. The project entailed rehabilitating the severely degraded grasslands and wetlands of Lesotho to natural and healthy conditions because the bulk of the water the is supplied in the Oragnge-Senque Basin (which included: South Africa, Lesotho, Bostwana and Namibia) comes from Lesotho and the wetlands are a big contributor to the water supplied by the rivers. The programme was based in Cape Town in June and the solutions were then presented at the WISA 2018 conference. The Minister, Gugile Nkwinti and DDG of International Obligations and Integrated Governance, Ms Lindiwe Lusenga attended the price-giving ceremony. The programme was a success as there are current follow-ups on some of the cases, particularly with the Lesotho. I am pleased to inform you that my team will now embark of a pilot project in Lesotho in October officially start the project that was set in Wetskills 2018. I am truely grateful that my major has put an opportunity for all the young professionals to gain more experience and aid the communities that are involved.
