What can I do with my major?

by Prayash Pathak (Chalise) | 17-08-2018 00:19

I am currently studying Bsc. Agriculture at Institue of Agriculture and Animal Science. Agriculture being my major will certainly play a huge role in promoting a green future for us. And to add to this, most of my couse content are related to environmental conservation and sustainability. We are taught a number of lectures related to environment pollution, agro biodiversity, ecology, climate change and many mores.

What I aim to achieve witj my major, is simple? I am quite certain that I will not be able to sustain the green future by myself, but I am pretty sure that the part in agriculture sustainability and conservation will be done by me. This can easily be done by utilizing the agricultural knowledge of Climate Smart Agriculture, conservation agriculture, agro-forestry management, soil conservation, pollution control, climate change mitigation, watetshed management, organic farming and many others.

Among all this possibilities, I wish to pursue my career in Climate Smart Agriculture and Organic Agriculture. Both of this are the areas of burning issue in the 21st century. Almost all of the present concern in the world, is in maintaining organic ans climate resilent agriculture. Climate Smart Agriculture is becoming a main concern of many NGOs abd INGOs. The most feasible methods of adopting CSA in the farming system are being researched everyday. And the realization of toxuc and harmful effect of sybthethic chemical fertilizer have made organic agricultre a matter of great concern for today.

So, all I want to achieve with my major id a Climate resilient and Climate Smart Agriculture that utilizes the organic techniques in feeding the entire world.
