![]() What Can I Do with My Major? This is a very timely topic for a Monthly Report for me because I am currently looking for a job after having graduated in the end of March 2018. I graduated with a Bachelors degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a Political Science and Communications track. Some might say that a major in Interdisciplinary Studies won't get me anywhere because it is too generic and doesn't specialize in any particular subject. It's not Accounting which would make me a CPA and it's not a pre-Med course which would put me in a Medical path. Neither is it in Architecture or Interior Design or one of the Engineering courses. So in what career path will a degree that focused on Political Science and Communications take me. Well, let's put it this way. These are fields that are important in something I want to do in the future, which is take up my Masters in Environmental Management. I want to do my part in protecting the environment and I feel I need to get my message across. how best to get my message across? By knowing how to communicate in a politically correct manner. All my young life, my niche has been anything related to the environment. I would like to continue this advocacy by communicating the issues and concerns of the environment and by encouraging other young people to do their part in environmental protection. |
