Hi my friends! This report is about ‘Saving Trees and Reducing use of Papers’. In this report, I’ll tell you about how South Korea is becoming an eco-freindly country!

So to introduce myself, I’m a South Korean living in Bangkok, Thailand. And before I used to live in Seoul, South Korea. I got motivated to start to shout to this world about ‘Global warming’ when I saw piles of trash dumped in a convenient store. When I took action, to tell the truth, most of the citizens, companies were not interested in ‘Global warming’. Well, some people did understand this problem, but still it was hard.

And now. It’s been about 1 and a half year since I came to Bangkok, and I’m hearing good news from South Korea about people taking action for our Earth, and also our actions are getting known by worldwide people. There’s a good example for this. There’s this huge conglomerate company in South Korea called ‘Hanwha Group’. Similar to ‘Samsung’ and ‘Hyundai’.

On July 17th, in the UN Headquarters, ‘High Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development’ was held, and a project called ‘The Hanwha Solar Forest’ was introduced as a great example of sustainable development. 

To summarize about what ‘The Hanwha Solar Forest’ is, it’s a innovative campaign Hanwha started from 2011, basically planting trees all around the world such as Turin Nars in Mongolia, Ningxia in China etc.

What I want to say is, that South Korea is getting aware of what is happening around us. Globa warming, climate change etc. I hope that not near, not only South Korea but us humans know and take action to solve this problem.
