![]() ![]() Hello my friends! I'm coming late with my reports that I wrote but couldn't upload on time! So, my report for May! This country that I live, Thailand has lots of issues and stuff to talk about when the topic is about ?Endangered Species? Although the environment of Thailand is a great treasure to them, Thailand did not know this fact and unfortunately lots of animals that Thailand was proud of are becoming extinct. Javan rhinoceros, Sumatran rhinoceros, and the grey ox, these 3 animals are critically endangered, and 11 animals including the Asian elephant, Asian Giant tortoise, and Leopard cat etc. The problem about Thailand?s animals becoming extinct is a huge problem, but if Thailand tries their best to find a way, people around the world who can help will surely help. Also, one of the biggest reasons that animals are becoming extinct is because of the huge illegal wildlife trade in Thailand. Lots of Thai people know that selling animals such as Asian elephants make a lot of money. For example, in March 2013, the CITES(Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species) was opened in Bangkok and around 170 delegates participated to discuss about the protection of the animals. But, while making the CITES list(A list that show animals to protect), Thailand removed 10 animals from the list, and they have been extinct soon. Of course the Thai government should work and think hard to solve this problem, but there are some actions we can do. When you go to Thailand as a tourist, be careful when you buy something, and always make sure that the attraction you?re going is not illegal, always research. Thanks for reading this report, and let us pray for the stop of extinction of animals in our Earth! |
