![]() ![]() This event tagged leave no child out on Africa's development. We cannot talk about issues concerning Africa without involving the children in it because most often, they are affected by it too. Protection of our environment should be shared with the young ones, they should be taught to have environmental consciousness as they grow up with the morals taught from an early stage. Just like the theme of WED 2018 "Beat plastic pollution", how can we do this alone without involving children? If we don't put this things in their consciousness they might probably turn out to be the ones polluting the environment. So, Center for Family Health Initiative in conjunction with AI Foundation taught kids recycling of plastic wastes. I did a campaign some months back, Carrygo Campaign were I cleaned up clogged waterway and most ambassadors wanted to know how/ what I'd do with them, so I decided to use this as an opportunity to share this event with us. The plastic bottles I gathered from the waterway, I thoroughly washed them and used them in teaching school kids at this event, over 30 schools participated and overall 300 participants. I taught them to make PENCIL HOLDERS. Materials I used were plastics, zips, and glue I got these other things from a tailoring shop's waste bin. It was amazing as these children learnt new things and recycling art initiatives they can try back at home, I believe when children get involved in such activities it will keep them busy, enhance their skills and groom them to be earth ambassadors, thanks
