"Saving the Trees" has always been our aim. We have been learning the importance of saving trees and ways of doing that right form our school. Almost all of us are quite aware about afforestation, preventing forest fire and other ways. But now we need some innovative ideas that can be applied practically. Because let's face it, with the increasing population pressure and land demand we can't achieve all this. We need to start applying our technological advancement for increasing the greenery of mother nature. New technologies are evolving everyday that can allow us to save trees without upsetting the increasing land and food demand. We have already seen machines that can uplift the entire tree along with its root, so that instead of destroying them during construction work, we can transfer them to another place. Smart drones are being used by developed nations to fly over large swath of forest area with which rangers could manage remotely to monitor and track illegal activities. For the preservation of endangered tree species systems of Radio Frequency Identification, DNA sampling, Isotopic sampling and aerial drones. Reducing paper waste have also been of prime importance. We have now already stepped into the technological era. The use of internet and computers have already reduced the use of paper. We have already started recycling of paper. Use of bio degradable paper are also being promoted. The offices have started to use digital document storage and organization system and new printer management technology. This is both ecologically and economically sustainable. So, let's conclude that though there are infinite ways to save trees and reduce paper waste. We need to get on with the technological advancements that can help us to cope our development activities and increasing population pressure along with protecting our nature. |
