There is a global concern regarding the global warming and climate change which is mainly caused due to the excessive production of Green House Gasses (GHG). One of the main GHG is Carbon-dioxide which is being produced due to anthropocentric activities. Fortunately, the forests and the ocean act as a carbon sink. It is very important to protect the forest as approximately 1146 pentagrams of carbon are stored in the world's forested ecosystem (Dixon et al., 1994). Hence, trees also continuously sequestrating carbon-dioxide, providing us with valuable products and it is an important part of the ecosystem.

Trees are very important because they not only clean the air but also store carbon-dioxide. This means that if tress are cut down the trees the stored carbon-dioxide will be released back into the air. This will have a very negative impact on the environment. Firstly, there is release of stored carbon and then there will be not trees to absorb the carbon  in the future through process of photosynthesis.

Life on earth depends on presence of trees as it provides with lots of goods and services. There are millions of creatures including the Homo Sapiens Sapiens dependent on trees for the survival. Due to current environmental changes there is lot of pressure on the forest globally. Trees are crucial part of the eco system.

There are more forests that are vulnerable to  forest fire and ever increasing demand for goods/services is causing its over-exploitation. Lastly, it is our responsibility to protect the trees as it is a crucial part of the ecosystem. We need to work towards toward sustainable development which will help to protect the forests.

We can protect the trees only if each one of us can contribute to protect it in our own small but significant ways.
