I have been living in Bharatpur-07, Krishnapur most of my life. I have always felt good about living here, but lately I have seen things that made me think for my city. Whenever, I cycle down the street, I could see people throwing their traces to either side of the road which made my city lose its fragrance and beauty. It was hard for me to accept the dreadful changes being the student of environmental science and a youth activist. So, on the occasion of Nepali New Year-2075 B.S., (14th April 2018, today), I made a small attempt to help ourself breath fresh. I have organized a "One Day Street Cleaning Event" at Bharatpur-07, Krishnapur, Seetal Tole. It wasn't very difficult for me to convince the people for the event as youth were the target group. I was filled with immense pleasure to see even small child from age group 7 participated happily in the event. Two streets of our area were cleaned. We also counsel the house owners over the area for proper disposal of waste and its management. A house was under construction and the workers of the construction team were told not to disperse the cement bags and unused materials on the land. They all agreed upon the same and were pleased with our work. The wrappers of the chocolates, noodles, etc. were picked from the roadside and were disposed in the incinerator. The cleaning last for about 1 hour. All the participants promised not to throw the wrappers on the road and organize such cleaning events timely as a Resolution of Nepali New Year-2075 B.S. I am really in shortage of words to express my happiness for organizing this event. Myself being the coordinator of the "One Day Street Cleaning Event" would like to thank the youths of Krishnapur, Seetal Tole who supported and participated on today's event to make the street wrapper free. And tons of thanks for making it a success. My special thanks to this little boy. YES, TOGETHER WE CAN!! 😊 😊 |
