IRRIGATION SYSTEM DEscriptION

IRRIGATION SYSTEM DEscriptION
My name is Y. SHEMA, a gentleman of 22 years old, am still studying to be a forester and Nature conservationist by profession; I just love playing Guitar when I want to distress myself. When I was 8 years old, My Mum used to tell me stories from bible at night sitting on small chair that was always in my room, and me just lying on my bed waiting the end to sleep. She believed with those words I will dream only GOOD from GOD.  My mother wanted me to be brave, stronger and intelligent like King DAVID in Psalms. She takes those readings as teaching materials. ?Hey my little KING, can you please come into your room so that I may teach you something?? That is how my lovely mother used to call me when she needs to update me with Bible?s inspirations. Little by little I started enjoying the stories.
One day when I was 10 years (on birth day), Mum brought me a cake in that morning of 21st march 2016. Hello my little King? She woke me up with a cake in her hand. The day was full of happiness I won?t forget that it was my first time to eat 20 chocolates; I had a great party with neighbors and friends she invited. She was tired because of the busy work of welcoming guests and preparing their food, then she seemed to forget that she have to give me a night lesson and went to her room to take a rest.
?Mumyyyy, can you please come in the palace, sit on your lovely chair and inspire your little KING to be brave?? I asked loudly, and she knew that I have started loving the teachings. She brought her Bible opened and I was lying as usual. What beautiful, powerful advice she read for me that day! FOR EVERY THING THERE IS A SEASON AND A TIME FOR EVERY PURPOSE UNDER HEAVEN, in Ecclesiates 3, verse 1 up to 8 the holy bible reminds us that everything has its right time.

Therefore, I am also reminding you that in farming, every activity must have its right time so that it can provide an efficient outcome. As there is a time to laugh and a time to cry, We should know that there is also a time for rain and time for dryness hence In all those seasons we will not stop eating, which means we don?t even need to stop cultivating because of the seasons. This is where I always think about the importance of irrigation in farming. Irrigation is the only artificial way that can help our crops to resist much longer in dry season. This is why am going to give you the description of the three irrigation systems that I listed in the previous report on POOR IRRIGATION SYSTEM AT RWASAVE SWAMP(N2). Furrow system
This system comprises a series of small, shallow channels used to guide water down a slope across a paddock. Furrows are generally straight, but may also be curved to follow the contour of the land, especially on steeply sloping land. Row crops are typically grown on the ridge or bed between the furrows, spaced from 1 meter apart.

Flood or Border check system
This system divides the paddock into bays separated by parallel ridges or border checks. Water flows down the paddock's slope as a sheet guided by ridges. On steeply sloping lands, ridges are more closely spaced and may be curved to follow the contour of the land. Border systems are suited to orchards and vineyards, and for pastures and grain crops.

Level Basin system
This system differs from traditional border check or a flood system in that slope of the land is level and area's ends are closed. Water is applied at high volumes to achieve an even, rapid ponding of the desired application depth within basins.

You may not be inspired Bible?s words like me, may be you don?t even believe that God exist but at least never forget that you will always need to eat for your own good no matter which season you are in, so remember that irrigation can save you from drought. Trust me; with irrigation systems we can grow crops even in a strong desert, as long as we can manage to have a small source of water.
