Yoga & Nature

by Rohan Kapur | 18-03-2018 18:48

A Healthy body means a healthy mind. To keep the body healthy, Yoga has proven to be very effective. I am an avid yoga enthusiastic & its regular practitioner. Since my early years, my mother has been my Yoga teacher. Last 2 years I have joined Yoga practicing institutes in the UAE and my experience has been amazing. Now so many Yoga instructors and institutions have come up everywhere. It has become very popular worldwide.

Yoga is a mind and body practice with historical origins in ancient Indian philosophy. Various styles of yoga combine physical postures, breathing techniques, and meditation or relaxation.

I believe that if your mind and body are active & healthy, you can contribute more towards conservation of environment. An Eco-warier must be healthy so that the mother nature may be well taken care of.

I have noticed that Yoga is no more limited to India or merely a religion specific. It has spread its wings all over the world. People of all ethnic races practice yoga. Last Friday, on 16-Mar-2018, a two-day mass yoga session has been organized at the Kite Beach in Jumeirah, Dubai. I, along-with my family attended the early morning session with approx. 2,000 others. There were people of many nationalities in attendance. As the same was organized next to the beech we felt so close to the nature.

Our session was conducted by famous Bollywood celebrity Ms. Malaika Arora, and model-turned international yoga guru, Yogi Cameron. Both conducted the session with professional ease and all the crowd performed & learned various yoga techniques. They were so engrossed with this activity the there was silence at the beach despite a 2,000-strong crowd was present.

To my pleasant surprise, next day newspapers carried the pictures of our family, performing yoga sessions. The links of the same are attached.

Taking care of the environmental aspects, we took public transport to the venue and the whole area of the event was full of recycling bins so that the waste do not go to the landfill.

Thanks for reading.
